Have them do a supervised make up of the 10 mile trek. Life is full of
situations where a leader has to make decisions toward folks who do not
follow direction with the option not being to fire them. The flip side is
that the people who choose not to follow the rules must pay a price, like a
make up hike, and the mother should be forced to do the hike with the boys
as well.....
