       I'd say planning might have been a big part of the problem. I have
seen homecomming being moved to a different date sometimes, but if this hike
was planned intentionally on homecomming weekend, thats a problem.
       Also, it is a bit early for planning a summer trek, although I see no
problem with it in the fact it might be good for the inexperienced crew to
get a feel for what the need, and balance ect. With winter comming on, I'd
expect there won't be any trekking till Spring.
       There have been some comments about making 80% or so of trips and
having 8 or so trips prior, that might be the best advice I could give, for
what it's worth.
