hm... much truth to that, coming from a youth.

but i actually like wearing my uniform to special events and such. i really
don't care what my other friends and even strangers think, for i'm proud to
be an eagle scout and wear my venturing uniform. plus, with the venturing
unform beign green, some people ask about it, and when i say it is just a
high adventure part of scouting for older scouts, i get a lot of people in
awe and respect. i even waer my philmont (class A) shorts as a regular
outfit for school, et. al.

but enough of that....

if i remember correctly, we wore our uniforms on our way there in 2001, but
were allowed to wear out crew shirts on the bus ride back, for a few kids'
Class A's were dirty or other misc. mishaps. so a problem, if your crew does
not have time to wash uniforms at base camp, would be those minor mishaps in
getting them dirty, smelly, etc, especially since some crews wear them
almost the whole time (even when sleeping?), and that can cause a risk of
something happening. So i'm sure that a crew advisor would rather a crew
still look good in crew t-shirts than in wrinkled, stinky, dirty Class A's
that aren't "presentable", but Class A's would be the best, prefered outfit
to wear....

okay, i think my time is up on the soapbox.... who's next? ;-)
