Our council requires ALL troops and contingents traveling out of council to
be in scout uniform.

We had 5 crews go to Philmont by train last summer. We all boarded the
train in full uniform. We changed trains in Kansas City, and there was
another Troop getting on the train, going to Philmont. Some of the crew was
in partial uniform and some had no uniform on. None of the leaders were in
full uniform.

They other crew looked trashy. Some of our boy complained for a while, but
eventually they took pride in the way they looked in full uniform compared
to that "sloppy" crew.

The scouts don't like the idea of traveling in uniform, but after a short
time on the train, no one cares.
