[Philmont]: Reminder of Double H Opportunity

I just wanted to remind folks that if you are looking for a great high adventure
activity for summer 2005 because you didn’t get a Phil Slot, or if you are in
the process of putting together an application for 2006, and don’t get a Phil
Slot, how about considering the DOUBLE H High Adventure Base!

Philmont runs a high adventure program at the Double H Ranch outside of Datil,
NM, southwest of Albuquerque. It is an amazing program. While it is advertised
as suitable for all comers, it is arguably very difficult, and I think
experienced crews can make the most of it. The treks are 7 days in length and
there are no trails. You must be very experienced in map reading, compass and
GPS skills. There is also absolutely NO surface water on the ranch, so water
management is the most important aspect to a fun and safe trek.

I know Ryan King at Philmont would be ecstatic to send you information, or
better yet, take your reservation. Try DoubleH@philmontscoutranch.org.

If you have any other questions I would be more than happy to discuss them here
in the forum or you can contact me offline at emuss3@ipass.net
