Kelly,

You may want to consider a Lexan bowl, sold for around $2.00 at Sports
Authority, Target, etc., from the sporting goods/camping section. The bowl,
along with a Lexan spoon, is actually all you will need at Philmont. Not
only are they virtually unbreakable, but they provide enough support while
eating and some protection from the heat of the food (when you do eat
something hot).

I have a couple of the Glad Ware type bowls for lunch at work. Personally I
wouldn't use them at Philmont because they are pretty flimsy, bend easily,
and offer no protection at all from the hot contents. Remember, you will be
balancing your food on your lap while perched on a log!

Subject: [Philmont]: Personal eating bowls?

Has anyone had any experiance with using the new light weight micorwaveable,
dishwasher safe, freezer containers that are now in the supermarkets, for
personal bowls/plates for the trail. One brand is called "Glad Ware". They
are very light, but do they hold up in the packs?

thanks
