Good evening.
To cook Hawaiian chicken, you need a stove. We took 2 types to Philmont, a Coleman exponent duel fuel stove and a JetBoil. Each served its purposes.
The Coleman was our cooking stove. We used whisperlites in 2003, and I found the Coleman easier to use. It weighs more. This is the only disadvantage compared to the whisperlite. Like the whisperlite, it uses white gas. The Coleman is easier to use; the instructions are right on the stove. It starts faster. It is stable. We didn't need much gas. We had a lunch for dinner on Mt. Phillips, a chuck wagon dinner at Beaubien, and a Mexican dinner at Abreu. So, we only used the fuel in the stove plus a liter bottle's worth.
The JetBoil was the morning coffee stove. It heated the water fast. When storing, don't put the fuel canister directly on the bottom of the cup because our cup became discolored. Wrap the canister in a handkerchief.
Anyway, I recommend the Coleman for meals and the JetBoil for morning coffee.
