Kim,
In 05 my daughter was on a trek with me. She has a minimed pump with the rf
meter. She found that her basal rate delivered enough insulin for her. She
never needed a bolus with food. We carried to extra supplies that we did
not need. The only issue we had was a couple of mornings her meter was too
cold to work and I put it under my arm to warm it up. It took about a
minute to warm it up enough to use. If you need more information or the
scout (parents) would like to contact me send a email to
Latimerdk@verizon.net.

Subject: [philmont] new question
any one have experience with a scout at Philmont who hiked with an isulin
pump??
One of the scouts who'd like to go has had an insulin pump for atleast 3 yr.
He'll be 14 yr old next summer.
we are used to dealing with this on a regular troop campoutactivities/treks,
but didn't know if Philmont had other requirements/restrictions.
I have called and left a message about this 2 times at Philmont, and haven't
gotten a reply yet, so thought I'd ask all of you
