Explain the program. When you boil it all down, one of the very biggest differences between a trip to Philmont and backpacking most any other mountain location is the program. Of course there is also the obvious condition of being immersed in a Scouting environment. Everyone you meet on the trail will be Scouts.

Subject: [philmont] Why go to Philmont?
So *I Know* why I went to Philmont the first time, and why I've gone back but I'm unsure on how to explain to the parents of a group of scouts why they should go ... I'm trying to create a promotional program for our council and I'm having a problem crystalizing this point ... any suggestions would be apprectiated.
