[Philmont] Denver to Philmont?

Anthony-if you were arriving June 30th, you could ride with us! Our
Council Contingent hits Philmont on that day <g>!

You will get lots of advice on companies to use to get from Denver to
Philmont. Being close enough to drive, we have never worried about that.
There is so much to do in Colorado, you could fill up a week or more! Some
folks like doing the Koshare's in La Junta, some folks like spending time
in Colorado Springs (7 Falls, Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy,
Olympic Training Center, Cave of the Winds), some folks like spending time
in Denver (Rockie's baseball, Coors Brewery, US Mint, Casa Bonita, etc.)
and some like doing other things (like the Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde,
Telluride, Pagosa Hot Springs, etc.). We had a group from South Carolina
come out last year and spend a few days at our local Council camp getting
acclimated and doing some fun stuff too (horseback ride, rock climbing,
etc.). The sky is the limit! YIS. Mike Conkey, Denver Area Council,
Treks in '76, '02, '04 and '07.

Anyone have advice to share about how to travel from Denver to Philmont and
what to do in between? How long does it take? The flights to Albuquerque
are getting expensive and rare.

Also, can someone remind this old man how to get to archives. I know this
has been here before.

July 7, but who is counting?

Thanks, Tony
