Registration for the computer "lottery" for the 2008 summer camping season
at Philmont and Double H begins today. Units may make only one
registration request during the process. Requests may be made for
consideration of multiple arrival dates.

The below arrival dates at Philmont will be in effect for 2008.
 June 8-August 9 (12 days & nights) $560 per person
 August 10-12 (9 days & nights) $441 per person
 August 13 (8 days & nights) $392 per person
 August 14 (7 days & nights) $343 per person

The Double H High Adventure Base provides a rugged backpacking experience.
Double H is located at the 100,000 acre Torstenson Family Wildlife Center
near Datil, New Mexico. Double H accepts arrivals for 7 day expeditions
from June 20 - July 27. The 2008 Double H fee will be $380 per person.

Units with a confirmed 2007 reservation for Philmont MAY NOT place a
request for 2008 (for Philmont) as units may not attend in consecutive
years. Units having a confirmed 2007 reservation for Philmont and wanting
to attend Double H in 2008 should contact doubleh@philmontscoutranch.org
prior to December 4th. This will allow you to bypass the reservation
system and make a 2008 Double H reservation.

A unit representative should log on to the reservation system according to
their region.
  Western Region Oct 23-29
  Southern Region Oct 30-Nov 5
  Central Region Nov 6-12
  Northeast Region Nov 13-19
  Open Week Nov 20-26

Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams and Venturing Crews who have officially
been on the waiting list for the past four years (2007, 2006, 2005, 2004)
will be given priority treatment. These units will enter the reservation
system before all other reservation requests are randomly considered.
Units who should have been eligible for this offer but found alternate
ways to allow their youth members to participate (i.e. participate in a
Council Contingent or join another unit and participate as a part of their
reservation) should voluntarily withdraw from the 2008 reservation request
system and honor the minimum participation requirement of every other
year.

Questions about the 2008 registration process may be directed to Philmont
by e-mail at camping@philmontscoutranch.org or by phone 505-376-2281.
