Greetings Steve,
Even before 2007, Wilderness First Aid was "highly recommended" but
Standard First Aid was the minimum requirement. I would not expect this
too change, although on the PhilSearch web site referenced, there is a
list of courses that meet or exceed the Philmont requirement and a call
to Philmont could certainly ease your mind.
Don't forget that you will still need a current CPR certification too.
Last year this was a little tricky for us because the CPR training
agencies had put a hold on training while they implemented the new
protocols and got their trainers up-to-date.
Happy Trails,
Roy Fisher
Now that it's official that we don't need WFA for '07, does anyone have
a sense of whether Philmont will accept WFA certification for '07, or
will they insist on a "standard" first aid certification (i.e., refuse
to recognize the WFA cert).
