Having lost several pot lids over the years, our troop uses the cheap
aluminum pie plates for lids. I don't remember the correct size but one
fits well enough to make a good seal on an 8/10 qt pots.

Shane,
Your troop has a great looking site. The guys have talked about crew bowls,
cups and spoons but since our kids are used to doing their own (our council
camps use patrol site cooking) and do so year around they decided to leave
it alone. Every crew should be comfortable with their system. Our system has
a little different twist with each crew and sometimes it changes during the
last pre-hike. I noticed you use the 8, 4 qt pot and fry pan as a lid. We
take 12 pieces of heavy duty alum foil. The cook carries two pots, Fair
Share mug with spices & plastic container of hot sauce, 2 plastic spoons,
box of 1 gal zip locks, the Glad Ware containers - sounds like a lot but its
minimal weight. We carried the alum foil to save weight but I'm not sure the
foil does a good enough job keeping the heat in. I've tinkered with the idea
of using a thin piece of plywood or something similar to hold the heat in
and to raise the temp of the water faster. The only things that see food are
the personal dishes, the zip lock bags, Philmont's pots only see water and
CampSuds so turn in is a snap.
