dropoff in the number of journals and photo albums produced by various units
of their treks at Philmont. To me, this is a huge loss of knowledge and
experience for new crews and advisors who want to get the feel of what their
trek will be like."

I wonder if this drop off is partially due to changing use of the internet.
You can find Philmont pictures on flickr.com and Philmont videos, including
Ken Burns style videos, on YouTube.com. Philmont groups appear on Facebook,
and I suspect on MySpace too.
