[Philmont] Fwd: Railroad plans

Metcalf Station will be open for bidness in the summer of 2008 according to a professional scouter I talked to at the Ranch late Sept / early Oct who is in the know. His exact comments were "Metcalf Station will be open for business in the summer of 2008, how much we will have to open with is unknown".

Another employee told me plans are in the making for trucking some 10,000 railroad ties up the canyon on 18 wheelers which is what railroad ties are usually delivered by for new railroad construction.

Son now you know all I found out from picking the brains of those in the know and those who might be in the know.

Here is a link to an archived message which contains an article from

This article suggests the new camp - Metcalf Station - will be open
for the 2008 season.
