I have gone to using the three-edged stakes & find them very_durable & they
are lightweight too. I found some out a local outdoor store made of a plain
aluminum, about 6 inches long. I also ordered some from Campmor made by
Moss, which are a bit longer & sturdier, & still lightweight. I like the
Moss stakes best because they come with reflection loop of rope thru the
ends which helps one see them at night with a flashlight & the loop helps
pull out of the ground too. They cost slightly more, but as durable as they
are, they are the best value in the long run. I did a whole trek at
Philmont, including camping in the rocks of Baldy Town & did not bend a
single one of these stakes. They also nest nicely together minimizing
space.
