Okay, Stoves - buy 'em new, you just don't know what the last person who
owned em did to em.....it's a vital bit of gear and you don't want it to
fail on day 9....

As for types of stoves, myself and a bunch of people I trip with don't use
whisperlights anymore, we've upgraded to the dragonfly....it's a bit more
expensive, but we've found they use less fuel and cook better due to the
adjustable flame - plus, they're serious multi-fuel....

If you are using an MSR stove, I recommend getting the parts kit - it's well
worth the weight when your pump breaks (I know this from the experience of
_not_ having one)..
