All I'll add to that is that it is interesting to watch them try to do what
is right or rather their interpretation of that. Times change and so do the
people within that time frame.

To hammer the stake or not to hammer, to fluff or not to fluff, to ditch or
not to ditch, to turkey bag or not to turkey bag and on and on and on.

Philmont is no different from any other place where over a thousand temporary
workers do so for a short period of time. Some go the entire summer without
so much as being known to the high brass. Others get their attention right
away.

Actually it is amazing that they get as good a group as they do. Well,
really not, because many have Scouting backgrounds and the screeners
definately have Scouting backgrounds. This doesn't mean all Scouts are
perfect angels, they aren't, but as a whole, they are an upper cut of people,
thus the high standards.
