You are correct. Even the people cleaning the restrooms and showers in base
camp were enjoying themselves. The only ones who complained were some of the
older ones that had obviously worked in the same capacity too long adn it wsa
time for them to move on creating vacancies to be filled by some enterprizing
young men and women.

When we were there during the first of July, there were several openings and
they asked anyone 18 and over to consider staying on after their trek. We
had two that would have been a good fit but had already obligated themselves
for a summer college orientation. There is always next year.

My point in mentioning the non Scouting background is not to condem anyone,
but to point out that there is a shortage of qualified help applying.

Do your part in Scouting and recommend a worthy person, not one who needs
there head turned around and put on straight. Philmont gets all those they
can handle.

They need the cream of the crop.
