Check out Selden's Philmont pages,
http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/philmont.html#1.4, there's lots of PTC
info, including an excellent summer 2002 play-by-play by Don Roberts.

Subject: [Philmont]: Training Center Questions

I have been Scoutmaster for about 8 years and am interested in attending
one of the Scoutmaster Training sessions next summer. What do I need to
know? My wife is interested in going also, so I need to know what the
accomadations and schedule are like so that we can determine if it would
be worthwhile for her to come with me. Also, where is the best place to
fly in to and get a rental car? Any tips on what to do and see while we
are there would also be appreciated. I was on Trek 809E in 1999 with a
council contingent and am hoping to return with my Troop in 2004, but a
trip with my wife to Philmont has different considerations to take into
account. I'll watch the list or anyone can respond to
