I would recommend the experience. I am a cub master from Pack 59 in Topeka
KS and my family and I went out there in August of this year.
You are in the old style wall tents, with cots and mattresses placed on
platforms. There is electrical power available (2) outlets) and a lightbulb
provided. A "closet" is provided to hang clothes.
Your wife is given the opportunity to do joint activities in the "Senores"
group while you train. Scouters were to be in full Uniform during the day
in my training group. My wife did tours of museums, ghost town, shopping,
horse back riding (she was not impressed) and hiking. What other options
are available I don't know.
Training for me was in the morning and afternoon, with planned activities in
the evenings. You get one "planned" free day on Weds. You eat in one of
two shifts.
You arrive after 1 on Sunday and leave Saturday A.M. If you want more info,
feel free to contact me at a_sly_fox@msn.com.
You have to be recommended by your council, so they told me, if you wish to
go, contact your council for more infomation.
