Kent,
We used an organization called City Concierge for pick-up at the Denver Airport,
and arranging 3 days of activity - Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, Cave
of the Winds, Seven Falls, and White Water Rafting. Stu did an excellent job of
exploring our likes and needs, and matching them to available activities and
time, coming up with a great itinerary.

I had comparison-shopped his prices with a couple of other tour agencies, and he
came out a bit less expensive bottom line, so we went with him. As he and I
jointly developed the itinerary (my first Philmont trek) I became convinced we
made a good choice. Even so, he is associated with Ramblin Express, and that
price was a little high for the long hauls - White Water to Cimarron and
Cimarron back to Denver. Timberline was one of the prices I had obtained, and I
decided to go with them for the long hauls. They were on time and very
courteous. If anything, they were conservative by allowing extra time for the
trip back because of potential traffic delays due to road construction. Sharon
made herself available by phone to facilitate the pick up scheduling and sooth
any jitters that might develop. I was/am unaware of any convictions or
ownership change, and glad about that.

Based on our experience with 22 Scouts and Leaders, 7/22/03 - 8/6/03, I endorse
both.

Can anybody provide current information about the ownership and operation
of Adventure Trails and Timberline through ScoutConnect? As many are
aware, in May 2002 there was discussion about the merits of using their
services for transpiration and pre-Philmont sightseeing activities. While
the service may be valuable there was reason to question supporting these
particular companies with, as I understand, a conviction by the
owner/president. Has there been change in ownership since May 2002? Can
anyone share their knowledge or have you used these services since then?

Kent,
I'd recommend you contact Mike Pardue of BlueSky Adventures. We fielded 2
crews (18 Scouts, 6 adults) this past summer and had a terrific experience
with BlueSky for our pre-Philmont trip. Mike has been a scoutmaster in FLA
for 20 years, understands the needs of Scouts on tour and has been to
Philmont several times---We flew into Alberquerque and had a 2 day tour with
white water rafting, sightseeing, hotels, transportation, meals, drop off to
Base Camp and return back to Alberquerque all organized and coordinated by
Mike and the tour company.
Mike can be contacted at www.blueskyadventures.net
Have Fun.
