It is with a great deal of pleasure that I announce that the newly updated 2003 version of the Philmont Advisor's Guide. Originally started as a 'lessons learned" paper by two first time advisors after they finished their treks, the Guide has now grown to 87 pages single spaced. The Guide is a compilation of information from experienced advisors and Philmont rangers and covers such topics as pre trek training, selecting a trek, personal and crew equipment, stoves and cooking, map and compass, co-ed crews and womens' issues, and a host of other topics. It serves as Crew 1519's primary fundraiser and is available as a MS Word e-mail attachment for a donation of $10 to the crew's high adventure fund.
For more information about obtaining your copy, please e-mail me directly.
