Don't know whether this means buy a PhilTent or just use the issue Philtent.
But, current mindset among parents is "my son has to have the best" as if that will make the trek easier. It usually doesn't and most of the time just burdens the kid down wiht extra weight.
One's fee covers the use of items such as tents. It costs the same whether they use the PhilTents or nor. The issue tents are more than adequate. The money spent on buying tents could be better spent in other areas, especially since Philmont furnishes tents.
If you just gotta have one, buy a used PhilTent for the song and a dance price.
