As with many thing I suspect there will be a number of opinions on
stakes, but my new favorite are the red stakes from MSR. They're
expen$ive at around $2 each, but they are strong enough to withstand
abusive treatment in rocky soil, come with a reflective pull string so
they show up at night. I bought enough for all three of my tents.
