The only down-sides that I see with the MIOX is that
1. Its an electronic device and consumes batteries (I've not found that battery life is a problem but I do worry about failure of the device). Polar Pure, short of breaking the bottle is pretty reliable.
2. The MIOX wait time for cryptosporidium(sp?) is 4 hours. Crypto is readily filtered (but not Polar Pured). Does anyone know if crypto is a concern at Philmont?
Otherwise, I've been very satisfied with my MIOX experience.
