Discounts/overstocks are a great source of breathable, waterproof outerwear.
Suits are the way to go.
Also consider Frogg Togs, if you've got a budget. They're light and
affordable. You'll see them on the trail at Philmont. Fashionably rumpled. Not
nearly as stylish as the better known brands, but very light weight
polypropylene. Make excellent windbreakers too. Fold 'em up and use 'em as a pillow.
Got mine in 2003 and still use the suit. No pockets.
