RE: [Philmont]: Christmas bags?

I have a La Fuma Warm 'n Light 1 Kilo Down that I got from Galyan's for
about $100. Not the most technical bag on the planet and a rather
interesting temperature rating system. I used it at Philmont and was very
comfortable, as was my son. Goosedown problems are greatly overblown when
you take the proper precautions (use a tall kitchen trash bag as a stuff
sack liner and have a tent that does not leak).

You can read my Owners Review for that bag at BackpackGearTest at the link
http://snipurl.com/8z2i

There is also a 2 year old OR for an Alps rectangle bag I noticed while I
was getting my link, you can see the review for it at
http://snipurl.com/8z2h

BTW, snipurl is a way to paste a looong url into a short space. The actual
base web site for BGT is:

I enjoy my Sierra Designs Flex Series mummy bag.

Many of my Scouts have taken advantage of the Scoutdirect.com pricing from
Alpsmountaineering.com. I was very surprised at the construction for an
inexpensive bag.

wet. I'm willing to stand corrected if anyone knows of a reasonably priced
down bag that can keep out the rain.
