California, and many othere states require that devices and chemicals that make
certain claims ( ie kill bacteria/virus) be registered with the state. This
duplicates the USEPA registration that is already required. PP is a small
company and likely not in a position to do 50 different registration
processes.
To complicte matters, PP or more exactly the iodine, is an ingridient in
methylamphetamine production. Many states are clamping down on its unregulated
sale or requiring reporting requirements. While it can't be sold in Ca on a
retail level you can get it mail order ( they have your info and address that
way). How long it will actually be available, remains to be see.
