Subject: [Philmont]: Polar Pure in California

Iodine is one of the essential chemicals needed to make methamphetamine via
the routes that are popular in California. So there are restrictions on its
sale. Polar Pure is pure iodine, so....

That said, we used PP on our trip to Yosemite and Sequoia, with the active
encouragement of the Park Rangers. So unless something new has cropped up
in the last month, I doubt if personal use quantities are a problem. I do
suggest, however, that you not be caught transporting 300 cases of Polar
Pure bottles to California for "backpacking purposes". Ahem.
