<<As far as the 2004 menu, here is a link to a Word Doc formatted menu for 2004 I found on Google with all the nutritional info on it as well. Looks like something the Philmont Staff put together for distribution. If you need it in a different format, let me know and I can convert it to PDF and forward it to you in that format.

Looked at the above. Joe is correct.

>From previous experience, I know that the wife of one of the Philmont administrators is a registered dietician. I'm not going to say who she is, because it doesn't matter and I respect her request for to remain anonymous on this list. What matters is each year she gets with the food suppliers and makes a comprehensive and very accurate list of trail food contents. This includes all ingredients, even in trace amounts. The task is a formidable one requiring weeks to get it done.

She is one of the unsung heros of kids with food allergies on the trail and through her efforts, many food allergy sufferers get to avoid the pangs of that problem which before she did this took many Scouts off the trail before the end of their trek.

The main reason for this is for those with food allergies, but it is used by many others with special needs and just plain nosey Pholks.

I found out about it when I inquired about food packet contents in planning a diet for diabetics on the trail.

Philmont will furnish this list to anyone upon request, all you gotta do is call them, tell them what you need and they will connect you with the right person. These people have years adn years of experience and serving your needs is what they enjoy doing.

The PhilAdmin bends over backwards to accomodate Pholks. They don't cottle to lazy peopleand they don't like to spend mucho grande money in salary picking up tent stakes, trash and broken down advisors on the trail, but they will and do a good job of getting you all the necessary information you need.

They deserve a big thank you for the job they do in getting ready for your crew and getting your crew ready for the trail, so don't forget to tell them at the first chance you get, which if not before will definately be at the advisors meeting the night before you hit the trail. There they give you the latest and the greatest and the good news/bad news of the day. Take time to say it then if not before.

You'll be too tired and pressed for time to remember to do so when you come off the trail.
