[Philmont]: Polar Pure - some observations

Hi Folks,

Couple of quick observations on Polar Pure:

-I find it astonishing that it's not available to buy in California,
since it's made there - I'm not saying that it's not true, but that's
just weird

-when I asked the owner of Polar Equipment about the health effects of
drinking an iodized solution in water his response was that he brushes
his teeth with it. I'm not sure I'd recommend that, but I like telling
the story. I can only imagine what colour his teeth are now.

-my personal solution for water purification is to strain the water
using a bandanna to get rid of floaters, treat with polar pure and add
kool aid in limited amounts. I'd like to try the MIOX, but only when
the price comes down - I can't justify the difference in cost - no
matter how good it is. But - when a friend of mine who worked with me
at Northern Tier tried it, her comment was that it was "just like polar
pure" in terms of use. That says a lot to me about which I'm going to
use.

Just my two cents worth.

Cheers

Mike
