Saturday morning our crew was talking with Mark Anderson. He mentioned that
only 11% of the crews this summer reported sighting bears, compared to the
30% or more that had been reporting sighting the past couple of years.
The consensus is the abundant rain and resulting food supply allowed the
bears to satisfy themselves with their natural foods and to keep away from
interactions with crews.
