Every Scout had a small supply of strike anywhere (what if the striker was
lost from safety matches?) matches in a waterproof container on their
person. Well, they were suppose to and what Scout doesn't like matches :-).

They also had an el cheapo lighter somewhere in their packs. It is part of
our Troops be prepared safety essentials.
