Rgarding relative itinerary difficult ratings:
IMO *any* trek that has you schlepping your fully loaded pack over Mt.
Phillips (nee Clear Creek Mountain), from either side, but especially
from the west after having recently picked up a resupply at Phillips
Junction, is in for a "Strenuous" experience at the least. This is true
whether they are on trek #4 or #34 or any in-between. And there are
numerous other features of the ranch that offer similar challenges.
I kind of like Dr. Bob's suggestion for difficulty ratings; there aren't
any cake walks for sure, and depending on what Mother Nature throws at
you any of the itineraries could become "Where should we ship your body"
difficult.
Happy Trails,
Roy Fisher
