I'll agree with Gary. There are lots of different models of hiking boots on
the market. Find the ones that best fit your feet and your budget. Most
will be great on the trail.
Be very aware, however, of the weight per pair of the boots by themselves.
I have a three or four year old pair of Vasque boots. They've treated me
very well and I've never gotten a blister. For Philmont this year, I
thought I'd buy a new pair of boots.
After wearing them on a practice hike last spring, I wondered, "Wow, how
much do these things actually weigh????"
Turns out, the pair in size 12 weighed 4 pounds 7 ounces! The store took
them back - thankfully. I wore my old 3# boots over 78 miles at Philmont
and did just great. Makes me wonder why I wanted new boots in the first
place.
Don't take the manufacturers listed weight as gospel, either. They usually
take a size 9 for "average" and print that weight.
I'd also recommend hiking boots with Goretex lining. Doing any amount of
stream crossing or hiking on wet trails with standing water will make the
Goretex worth it's weight in gold. (IMHO, of course.)

models. The most important consideration is fit and break-in. Get the best
you can afford, fitted properly (including putting weight on you back) and
put lots of miles on them before you go. A pair of sturdy $100 boots
properly fitted and seasoned will treat you better than a $300 pair chosen
for the wrong reasons and left in the box until your trek.
