Montrails are great- RE: [Philmont]: hiking boots

I bought a pair of Montrail boots in March of 2004,
broke them in, and wore them on our late July, 2004
Philmont trek. I agree that they are very comfortable.
I too, did not get a single blister.

We did encounter a crew on our trek whose members had
problems with Columbia boots busting out along the
side.

It's been discussed here before, but I'll put in
another plug for Smartwool socks. You don't even need
to wear a light pair of socks under them. They're
great just by themselves.
