>I find it interesting that they list Vasque Clarion as unacceptable. I
have two Philmont treks and lots of other backpacking on my Vasque
Clarion GTXs....... For anyone with a wide foot, it is a boot to
consider as it has wide toe box. Other boots, including other Vasque
models in wide widths, did not fit as well.
The wide toe box is why I chose my Vasque Clarion GTXs, too. I have
arthritis in my toes and the wide toe box is essential. I did the GA
section of the AT twice and two Philmont treks and probably another 300
miles in those boots before the leather started to crack and the soles
were wearing. They are a little heavy and they did take more breaking
in than some of my other boots, but I have not had another boot that fit
my foot as well.
