When we were trying to evacuate from Rita, my Ranger son was gathering
his valuables. Both pair of boots were in his truck - the new pair that
he's breaking in and the old pair with 800 miles on them. Both
backpacks were on their way too - one internal frame, one external
frame. I was also happy to see $500 worth of college textbooks in the
cab of the truck. :)
We couldn't leave due to the gridlock all around us in Katy. We weren't
under mandatory evacuation here, though. Rita turned and we were fine.
A little wind and a big quarter inch of rain. We're going to have to
water the lawns after all!
