You may also be able to get a replacement part by "cannibalizing" a
nonfunctioning unit, which you may be able to find at a secondhand shop
(e.g. Goodwill) or a large rummage sale.

There are a lot of old lanterns around if you look, because most folks don't
know how to maintain them and they're not essential to daily life.

Greetings Roy,

You may wish to try having a replacement part made. Many years ago I
replaced a leather
disk, which had worn, on a Coleman lantern. As I recall, this disk was part

of the "plunger"
pressure assembly, and replacement worked like a charm.

You may also want to ask the Coleman company for help. Sometimes a company
will go
out of their way to help as it is good public relations.

Best wishes,

Joe Jansen
