That sounds no different than what we got for 2005 and 2003. What do you
consider new about it? What Philmont does NOT want is a unit to show up
expecting to move right into CHQ. They want to know you are getting there
early, and if they have a spot for you, they will rent the tents. If not,
you set up your own tents in a field. Or you can stay at a nearby
campground. They do not want to imply any kind of guarantee they will have
space.

RE: Early Arrival
In a recent email from Fran regarding the payment that's due on October
1st, she seemed to imply NO early arrivals next summer:
"You must schedule your arrival at Philmont for the first day of your
Expedition. For example only: Exp. #614-A would arrive on June 14, 2007.
If your group needs to arrive early, information on local campgrounds is
found in the 2007 Council and Unit Planning Guide, pages 13 & 14, which was
mailed to you in the spring."
Does anyone know if the rules changed? I was under the impression that
early arrivals were no big deal as long as you let them know in advance.
