I used to do that, but age and wisdom has lightened the load.

John, you should be fine with the Aether 70. Two of our scouts carried them
and thought they were great packs. They were completely full on food pick-up
days but otherwise plenty of volume for gear, so long as you don't pack like
Jim "the pack mule" Moss.
