My first trip to Philmont will not be my last!

I could tell you many things that happened on my class trek (High Adventure Trek Planning) from climbing the rocks at Cimarromcito to the view from Window and Cathedral rocks. The largest thing that happened though was the weather, cold and windy weather. The 60 MPH wind gusts prevented us from leaving shaffer's pass (15 degree windchill) and traveling over Scahhers Peak and Tooth to PTC. We took refuge at Miner's park and were luckier than a few classes that we didn't get caught in the snow. By Saturday morning several of the high peaks had 6-8 inches of the white stuff.

  Great time had by all.

The class would like to thank our Philmont Staff guide Kate(summer director at Abreu) for giving our PTC course a great adventure. This 23 year old women earned the respect from all 12 particpants and 2 instructors.
