Mark,
Please review the following and commit the proper version to memory before attending AA in a coupla weeks. We will not want to take valuable time drilling this into your head.
As the motto says "Be Prepared"
And by the way, it's North Carolina who flies their flag upside down, not Texas. the white's on top, the red on the bottom and the five pointed star is upright in the blue field. What other way could it be?
Texas Pledge of Allegiance
Pledge of allegiance to the state flag
The Pledge of allegiance to the state flag is a symbol for Texas that was introduced by the Texas Legislature in 1933.[31] It is normally recited at state events and ceremonies. It is also read aloud by Texas grade school students daily in in the morning directly when school starts. It is read after the Pledge of Allegiance and is followed by a moment of silence. The original Texas pledge is recited as such:
"Honor the Texas flag of 1836;
I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas,
one and indivisible." In 1965, "of 1836" was removed from the pledge, as it erroneously referred to the 1836 Texas national flag.[31] This remained the pledge for forty-two years.
In the summer of 2007, the state of Texas changed the pledge by adding a line to it.[31] The current pledge is:
"Honor the Texas flag;
I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas
one state under God,
one and indivisible." John LeBlanc
