It may be a Yucca style of backpack that even I still have one of.........stored away as a museum piece of course....

I don't know what kind of external pack you use, John, but it must be ancient if it doesn't have a hip belt with a buckle. Are you still using that canvas pack with the lashed -together wood frame??
