Better for the eye to go directly over you than a little to the west and
catch the brunt of the dirty side. When Rita was threatening, most of
Katy, Texas went to bed thinking the eye was going to be just west of
us. Many Katy folks got on the road the next morning without checking
to see how far it tracked east during the night. Of course, the traffic
jam kept most from leaving.
I was watching teevee last night when Humberto became a hurricane. Oh,
those weatherguessers could barely contain their excitement! But they
also spent a lot of time saying "Humberto wasn't expected to intensify!"
I'm assuming that you and John safely rode out HH?
