I guess most by know know that the post about the bear ad was one of my usual designed to evoke commetns and discussion. It did.
Also I wanted to stimulate thinking about Scouting websites. Those run by units are often maintained by youth and they should be as this is a part of the learning and growing process from youth to adulthood that Scouting is famous for.
Let us keep in mind that these things do happen. I don't suggest totally building a bubble around our Scout youth but we have to remain vigilant to things not in their best interest.
Remembering back to my youth days, I do remember high in the rafters or a "Red Roof Inn" way back out of sight there were some very warn copies of some several years old "girly magazines" as they were called back then.
As far as I know those are still there, always have been and probably always will be in one way, shape or form whether it be print or electronic media.
It's like Mark says, the adult industry has been at the forefront of technology. Anything to make some money. And I'll go out on a limb here to say that isn't all bad.
And like all other things legislated imoral or illegal, you can sweep it under the carpet or move it down the block from your house, but you cannot eliminate it.
And as Mark again posted we have to take some of the bad along with the good.
Look at all the spinoff from the space race we played with the Russians for most of my life. It wasn't all a bed of roses, but I'll take my calculator watch over my slide rule any day. I have and know how to use both. Like I said I'm an old man.
And as Jimmy posted, one of my favorite sayings is "there is no such thing as a free lunch". You are going to pay sooner or later even with a free webpage.
Y'all doin' good!
